I glanced out the window at the two pairs of glowing eyes circling the well worn salt perimeter and told him that they would be returning home for dinner very soon. They had been gone for hours, leaving my son and I alone in the silent, eerie house. As I spoke, I felt a shiver run down my spine. Something was off. I looked back at my son, who was pacing nervously back and forth. Suddenly, we heard a rustling sound outside. My heart leapt into my throat as I peered out the window again. My blood ran cold at the sight of four pairs of glowing eyes staring back at me. I knew then that we were not alone in the house, and that whatever was out there was hungry for blood.
